First, access the tracking number menu for an AccuTrack 1-1 campaign. From the "Campaigns" tab (what you see when you first log into your Mongoose account), click "Edit" below the Campaign Name.
Under "Campaign Options", choose "Manage Numbers"
Click on "New Local"
Every number is local to a certain area, and is served by an area's rate center. On the local number inventory screen on the Mongoose dashboard the rate center information is listed to the right of the tracking phone numbers.
To find your intended rate center, locate an existing phone number from a residence or business within this area. Use the following tool to determine its rate center:
Enter the first 6 digits of the phone number into the two text areas provided (first 3 numbers in the first field, next 3 in the 2nd field). Search and retrieve the rate center for this area, which is generally the name of the town or a neighboring area.
From the Local Number Inventory screen in Mongoose, choose a phone number with the corresponding rate center and area code information (shown in the 3rd screenshot above). Check the box next to the phone number to purchase and then click Request Local Numbers.
The next screen contains a confirmation of purchase, confirm by clicking "Confirm Purchase". The number is now provisioned to the AccuTrack 1-1 campaign, live and directing any calls to the Default Destination Number of the campaign (or to the number you have set in the Destination Routing settings or Extensions).
If the rate center does not appear in the area code, it may exist under an overlay area code of the same area. For example, the highly in-demand area code 212 has overlays of 646 and 917. A simple Google search of the area code you are looking to obtain will provide insight into any overlays it may have, and then repeat the above steps with this new area code. If you still do not see the rate center you need, you can order a nearby one (it is considered local calling if it resides no greater than 15-20 miles outside of your target area).
To place an order for specific number, send an email to email@example.com with the quantity of numbers, rate center, and area code, followed by any overlays as 2nd and 3rd options. It will take us 2-4 business days to obtain the numbers and then we generally recommend a 14 day wait period to "rest" the numbers. This is to ensure they don't receive unwanted calls once you obtain them. Please state in the email if you wish to waive this 14 day wait period and have the numbers immediately available upon us receiving them.
You may also desire a specific exchange/prefix for the tracking phone number. These are the next 3 digits of the phone number after the area code. Note that many different area code/exchange combinations exist for a single rate center, but none are local to a certain area of the rate center. We are not able to order specific exchanges for a number due to carrier limitations.
