The Mongoose Metrics call tracking integration with Google Universal Analytics allows users to track phone calls and see phone call data within their Google Analytics reports. When a trackable phone number is dialed and the phone call has completed, our phone call server will also post back to Google Analytics with the required information. In this way, the offline phone call data is logged back to the Google Analytics reports as an event.
Google Universal Analytics Integration Instructions
Setup Within Mongoose Dashboard
1.) Go into the Mongoose Metrics dashboard and click on “Manage Campaigns”.
2.) Once on the Manage Campaigns page select "edit" next to the campaign you'd like to edit.
3.) Within your Edit Campaign page you'll want to select "Analytics" > "Analytics Integration"
4.) Make sure to select the "Google Universal Analytics" tab. In the “UAID” text box, enter the UA code provided by google (e.g UA-12345-12). We recommend to not change anything already in “Post-back URL”, but if you would like to change what is posted as a label within the Analytic event reports, change the “option_value=[variable]”.
5.) Click “Generate URL”, Mongoose will display your completed URL. Click “Save and Confirm.”
6.) Once you start getting phone calls, login to your Google Analytics account to validate data.
- Go to “Traffic Sources” (1), “Events” (2) and then “Overview” (3).
- The Event Category is categorized as 'Phone'.
7.) The Event Action is 'Call', and the Event Label is the caller's incoming phone number.
Your Universal Analytics Integration is completed!
